How to play

A sequence of numbers is shown. Work out the arithmetic rule connecting each number to the next, then choose the number that should come next in the series.

• No paper or calculator — do it in your head.
• Look for a consistent step: addition, subtraction, multiplication, or a combination.
• Some series alternate between two interleaved rules.
• Difficulty ramps up automatically as you answer correctly.
