How to play
A sequence of numbers is shown. Work out the arithmetic rule connecting each number to the next, then choose the number that should come next in the series.
- No paper or calculator — do it in your head.
- Look for a consistent step: addition, subtraction, multiplication, or a combination.
- Some series alternate between two interleaved rules.
- Difficulty ramps up automatically as you answer correctly.
Why this matters
Numeric progressions are a direct practice format for the quantitative and fluid-reasoning items used across the Wechsler scales' Perceptual Reasoning content and Raven's Progressive Matrices, both of which score how quickly you can extract a rule from limited examples.
